    The purpose of this policy is to clearly state the various activities for which Tutoring Services of the University of North Georgia (the University) is responsible and the relationship of Tutoring Services to other departments.

    1. Tutoring Services seeks to provide students, faculty and staff with academic support and academic tutoring in a variety of subjects in order to facilitate the learning process and to ensure an inclusive culture.

    2. Tutoring Services works with pride, professionalism, and excellence to support the University’s mission by providing students, faculty, and staff at each campus location with facilities and services that support each campus’s unique academic objectives, goals, and populations. These include but are not limited to:

    1. Tutoring in a variety of academic subjects tailored to each campus’s student population and course offerings.

    2. Make-up exam proctoring tailored to each campus’s student population and course offerings.

    3. Rental of materials and supplies by faculty, staff, and students appropriate to each campus’s student population and course offerings.

    4. Accounting Labs

    5. Math Labs

    6. Science Labs

    7. Writing Centers

    8. The ACTT (Academic, Computing, Tutoring, and Testing) Center and the Learning Commons

    9. Tutoring Services also collaborates with the English department and Library Services for student writing tutor training and professionalization on some campuses.

    Support Info

    Tutoring Services is a department of University College and reports to the Dean for University College. The central operations location is at 3820 Mundy Mill Road, Watkins Building, in Oakwood, Georgia.
