Removal of Items from University Premises

    The purpose of this policy is to ensure that property of the University of North Georgia (the 'University') is properly accounted for at all times. Additionally, this policy is designed to protect University employees from any appearance of impropriety in the handling of University property.

    1. When any equipment belonging to the University is to be used off campus, it must be for authorized business reasons and an 'Equipment Loan Agreement' must be completed and properly authorized in advance.

    2. When any item belonging to the University is no longer needed by the using department, it shall be declared surplus and transferred to Logistical Services for disposal or transfer to another department.

    3. Any materials discarded by students, employees, or work crews (including from new construction or remodeling projects), materials placed in dumpsters, and any natural resources on any University campus, becomes the property of the University.

    4. University employees may not convert for their personal use or profit any item belonging to the University, a student, or a fellow employee.
