Non-Enrolled Minors on Campus-Revision

    The purpose of this policy is to clarify when Minors are allowed on University of North Georgia (the “University”) Premises.

    University Premises: Includes all land, building, facilities, and other property in the possession of or owned, used, contracted with, or controlled by the University of North Georgia (including adjacent streets and sidewalks).

    Non-Enrolled Minor: For purposes of this policy means any person under the age of 18 who is not enrolled as a student in the University.

    1. Workplaces on University Premises are not designed to accommodate Non-Enrolled Minors during normal operations, however Minors may be allowed on University Premises for short periods under appropriate circumstances.

    2. Non-Enrolled Minors, accompanied by employees or students, are welcome to make brief visits and to attend scheduled events which are designed to include Minors.

    3. All Non-Enrolled Minors are welcome on University Premises when accompanied by a parent/guardian or supervising adult, provided that the adult is not simultaneously performing University duties. If Non-Enrolled Minors are disruptive or left unattended, both the adult and Non-Enrolled Minor may be asked to leave the University Premises.

    4. Non-Enrolled Minors are permitted in instructional areas only as part of a University sanctioned and supervised activity or with permission of the instructor.

    5. Non-Enrolled Minors are not allowed in or on University vehicles, except as a passenger being transported to or from a pre-approved authorized event.

    6. A University employee in a position of department director or higher shall have the discretion and authority to authorize the presence of Non-Enrolled Minors on University Premises.
