    The purpose of this policy is to ensure all International student travel observes appropriate international travel procedures, observes risk management protocols, and follows University of North Georgia (the “University”) budgeting guidelines and best practices.

    1. All international travel (i) offered by University departments, (ii) involving employees on University business, (iii) arranged by employees for University students or (iv) representing the University or its departments must comply with the policies and procedures developed by the Center for Global Engagement for international travel and be coordinated and approved by the Center for Global Engagement.

    2. The University only allows enrolled students in associate, bachelor, or graduate programs over the age of 18 to participate in University affiliated education abroad programs.

    1. The Center for Global Engagement, using the U.S. Department of State travel advisory system, assesses the level of risk for University sponsored travel and determines if the travel is allowed in potentially dangerous locations.

    2. Any related operating procedures must comply with and should reference this policy.
